Edinburgh
Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital hosts a magnificent castle that towers over the rest of the city, the views from the top are impressive. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is performed with the dramatic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, and combines of a mix of music, ceremony and dance from over 1,000 musicians, pipers, drummers, singers and dancers from across four continents, ending with an amazing firework show.
Lake District / Ullswater and Windermere
The lake district is made up of many lakes the largest of which is Windermere set in a busy town, and second largest, Ullswater set amid the views of the Lakeland Fells. Both offer amazing walking routes, and have regular steamer, ferry or launch services.
Dumfries
This historic market town is best known for its links to the Scottish Bard Robert Burns, having spent his final years in Dumfries. The town is overflowing with quirk and charm and is home to one of Scotland’s oldest bridges and Caerlaverock Castle one of Scotland’s great medieval fortresses.
