The Antrim Coast, curving around the north of the country, has some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the whole of the UK. Here you pass through traditional Irish villages and unique resorts, can visit the famous Bushmills Distillery and the legendary Giant’s Causeway, and spot landscapes from popular TV and film productions. Game of Thrones was filmed along the Antrim Coast because of the dramatic vistas it offered and it really doesn’t disappoint.

Belfast

Cosmopolitan Belfast is now a hip and happening city with a fabulous waterfront, headed by the landmark Titanic Belfast building and iconic Harland & Wolf cranes. Belfast City Hall dominates Donegal Square while the political murals of the Falls and Shankhill Roads are a reminder of times past. A guided tour of the city is recommended to understand the full history of this remarkable city.

Giants Causeway

No visit to Northern Ireland is complete without a visit to the mythical stones of the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO world heritage site, said to be the work of the legendary giant Finn McCool. Often referred to as the “eighth wonder of the world” the interlocking basalt columns were formed over 60 million years ago and attract visitors from all corners of the world.

Meander through the bustling shopping streets of Derry, head across Peace Bridge for views across the river Carothers, this modern bridge bends in an S shape and is beautiful both during the day or evening. Derry is most known for its 17th century walls that completely encase the city that gives a great overview of the history and current issues of the city, thanks to the comprehensive information.

County Down

County Down stretches from the shores of Belfast Lough, around Strangford Lough and to the magical Mountains of Morne. Here you will find a mix of historic castles, beautiful beaches, forest parks and stately homes, from National Trusts, Castle Ward to Royal Hillsborough, the official Northern Irish residence of the King. Or perhaps visit the new Game of Thrones Studio Tour – a multi-million pound addition to Northern Ireland’s wealth of attractions.
