Group Breaks in Galway

Lying where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean, this bohemian city is known as ‘the city of the tribes’, a reference to the fourteen merchant families who once dominated the city through the centuries.

It has a cosmopolitan centre and a rich history, including a Latin Quarter, that retains part of the medieval city walls and is filled with cobbled streets and colourful buildings filled with cafes, boutiques, and art galleries, where you can experience the city’s culture, as well as exceptional food, music and that wonderful Irish welcome.

The only city on the Wild Atlantic Way coastal route, highlights of the city include the leisurely Eyre Square, the ancient Spanish Arch and the green-domed Catholic Cathedral.
