DAY ONE:
From your local joining points we make our way towards the airport for our flight to Croatia and transfer onwards to our hotel for the next 7 nights in Dubrovnik.
DAY TWO:
Enjoy a leisurely free morning, with an included lunch prior to our guided tour of the historic city centre, formerly known as Ragusa, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Impressive ramparts surround this medieval city and there is a myriad of streets, shops and restaurants for you to explore alongside the stunning Venetian, Gothic and Baroque style buildings.
DAY THREE:
An extended day touring today as we head for the peninsula of Peljesac, and the city of Orebic, for a boat trip to the beautiful fortified city located on the island of Korcula. Here we enjoy a guided tour of the picturesque alleys and City Hall with entry to Saint Mark’s Cathedral and the All Saints Museum. Lunch is also included today.
DAY FOUR:
Another busy touring day as we drive to neighbouring Montenegro and the delightful Kotor Bay which is the largest fjord on the Adriatic Coast. We follow the steep coastline to reach the fisherman’s village of Perast, which offers dramatic views over the islets of Saint Mark and of Gospa od Skrpjela, known as the ‘lady of the rocks’, which we visit by boat. There is time to visit the church, famous for its votive tablets and tapestry before continuing to the city of Kotor. Backed by rocky peaks and extensive fortifications the well-preserved medieval city, protected by UNESCO, is idyllic. In the afternoon we discover the historic heart of Budva spending time in its medieval centre before returning to Dubrovnik with a ferry trip from Lepetane to Kamerari. Lunch is included today.
DAY FIVE:
A leisurely morning with lunch at your hotel. This afternoon get set for a cruise to the glorious Elaphites, a chain of wild islands with steep cliffs, which spread off Dubrovnik. As well as stopping on one of the islands our enjoyable cruise includes lively music together with an aperitif accompanied by some local specialities!
DAY SIX:
Our tour today visits neighbouring Bosnia-Herzegovina and, the UNESCO listed, charismatic old town of Mostar where the scenery and architecture blend together. Our guided tour of a mosque and Turkish house will help to provide an atmospheric feeling of ancient times. Lunch is included today.
DAY SEVEN:
A pleasant morning trip to the little village of Cilipi today where we visit the ethnographic museum, followed by a tasting of grappa or ‘Prosek’, the local cooked wine. Stroll around the market stalls, at your leisure, or there is time to visit Saint-Nicolas Church where a folklore demonstration, featuring traditional dancing, is held. We return to our hotel for lunch.
DAY SEVEN:
We make our way to the airport for our flight to the UK and onwards journey home.
