I did a law degree at the University of Kent and had planned to on to become a barrister. After graduating I took a few months off and found myself working for a local holiday company. Having been sure I wanted to be a barrister, I suddenly didn’t want to any more! The travel business had lured me in with all its might. I was hooked, and have been ever since!
So much so that within a year, and with my entire life savings of just £500, a new holiday company was born – my own!! That was back in 1983, although at times it seems like only yesterday.
It’s been a privilege to have been of service to so many loyal customers over the years - well-over a million in fact and counting – and I am also proud to have worked with some incredibly loyal colleagues too. The first person I took on back in 1984 is still with us to this day, along with countless others who have served alongside me for 25 years or more. That fills me with great pride but makes me feel very humble too.
Over the years I’ve travelled the length and breadth of Britain, exploring every corner of this wonderful land. I’m always on the look-out for interesting new places for our customers to visit, and hotels that offer an extra special welcome. It’s in my blood and I’m just so thankful that I chose to follow a career in travel, and not the law!
